Is a Dickeys Barbecue Pit franchisee required to offer delivery services?

You must offer delivery services from your Restaurant if one of our designated third-party delivery providers offers delivery services in the Assigned Area. You must make accommodations for those delivery services in compliance with our standards, including limiting the delivery services to any delivery area we specify to you in writing. (See Item 8) Any delivery area we specify is not exclusive and we may engage, and/or allow other franchisees and third parties to engage, in any activities we desire within the delivery area without any restrictions (including allowing other Dickey's franchisees and delivery service providers to provide delivery services in the delivery area). Any delivery area we specify is nothing more than the geographic boundaries in which you may deliver those menu items approved for delivery from your Restaurant, and no other rights are granted to you.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Dickeys Barbecue Pit's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to offer delivery services under specific conditions. If a designated third-party delivery provider offers delivery services within the franchisee's assigned area, the franchisee must offer delivery services from their restaurant.
This requirement includes making accommodations for these delivery services in compliance with Dickeys Barbecue Pit's standards. Dickeys Barbecue Pit may specify a delivery area in writing, and the franchisee must limit delivery services to that area. This means that while franchisees must offer delivery if a third-party provider is present, the terms and conditions of that delivery service, including the area and competitive landscape, are subject to Dickeys Barbecue Pit's control and potential competition from other franchisees or third-party services.
