What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Deka Lash Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees acknowledge that operating a Deka Lash studio involves hard work and potentially long hours, similar to many owner-operated small businesses. Franchisees must actively participate in the daily affairs of the business. However, if the franchisee becomes ill or incapacitated, they have the option to designate a manager to run the day-to-day operations of the Deka Lash business, subject to Deka Lash's approval.
This approval process ensures that the designated manager meets Deka Lash's standards for competence and operational knowledge. The manager must complete the then-current training program to Deka Lash's satisfaction. The franchisee is responsible for all acts or omissions of the manager.
This policy provides flexibility for Deka Lash franchisees who may face health challenges or other circumstances that prevent them from actively managing their business. However, it also ensures that the Deka Lash brand and operational standards are maintained through a qualified and Deka Lash-approved manager. Prospective franchisees should consider the implications of this requirement and the costs associated with training a manager when evaluating the Deka Lash franchise opportunity.
