What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Deka Lash's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a transfer fee is required when transferring a franchise. The franchisee must pay Deka Lash a Transfer Fee and a Prospect Generation Fee, if applicable.
In addition to the transfer fee, the prospective transferee must meet Deka Lash's criteria, execute the then-current Franchise Agreement, pay any initial franchise fee if applicable, satisfactorily complete the initial training program, obtain necessary licenses and permits, and obtain any lessor approval for the transfer. The purchase price and terms of the proposed transfer must not be so burdensome to the prospective transferee as to impair or materially threaten its future operation.
Deka Lash also retains the right of first refusal to match any purchase offer for the franchise, any interest in the franchise, or substantially all the assets of the Franchised Business. This means that before a franchisee can transfer their business to a third party, Deka Lash has the option to purchase it themselves under the same terms.
