What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Deka Lash Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must use anti-virus protection on their computers. Currently, Deka Lash does not specify a particular vendor for anti-virus software. However, Deka Lash retains the right to specify a particular vendor in the future.
This means that while franchisees have the flexibility to choose their anti-virus software initially, Deka Lash could mandate a specific vendor later. Franchisees should factor in the potential cost and disruption of switching to a mandated anti-virus solution if Deka Lash decides to enforce this right.
It is common for franchisors to set technology standards to ensure data security and system compatibility across the franchise network. The franchisee should inquire with Deka Lash about what factors would trigger them to specify a particular anti-virus vendor and how much advance notice franchisees would receive before such a change.
In addition to anti-virus protection, Deka Lash requires franchisees to have a broadband internet connection and use the franchisor's established domain email accounts. Franchisees must also use QuickBooks Online for financial record keeping.
