What This Means (2024 FDD)

Based on the 2024 Deka Lash Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for ensuring their employees have the training, licenses, or certifications required by applicable law. Deka Lash does not assume responsibility for advising franchisees on regulatory matters.

This means that Deka Lash franchisees must stay informed about all local, state, and federal regulations impacting their business, including labor laws, health and safety codes, and licensing requirements for estheticians or other service providers. Franchisees need to proactively seek legal counsel or consult with regulatory agencies to ensure full compliance.

The franchise agreement stipulates that franchisees must secure and maintain any insurance required by state laws and as specified in the Deka Lash Operations Manual. This further emphasizes the franchisee's responsibility for understanding and adhering to relevant regulations. Deka Lash requires to be named as an additional insured on these policies.

Overall, the FDD makes it clear that Deka Lash franchisees operate as independent business owners responsible for their own compliance. Prospective franchisees should carefully research the regulatory landscape in their area and factor in the costs of legal and professional advice to ensure they meet all requirements.
