Answer from 2024 FDD Document

If you lose possession of the Location through no fault of your own, or if we give our approval, you may apply to us for our approval to relocate your business to another site in the designated area, provided such a site is available.

We will approve or disapprove the relocation of your outlet, typically within 14 business days of your submission of the required site selection documents required by us.

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Deka Lash's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee may apply to relocate their business if they lose possession of their location through no fault of their own. To do so, the franchisee must apply to Deka Lash for approval to relocate to another site within their designated area, assuming a suitable site is available.

Relocation is not automatically guaranteed. Deka Lash retains the right to approve or disapprove the relocation of the outlet. The FDD states that Deka Lash will typically make a decision within 14 business days of receiving the necessary site selection documents from the franchisee.

It's important to note that Deka Lash does not normally approve relocation unless there is a significant change in economic or other factors affecting the franchisee's outlet. This suggests that losing possession of the location through no fault of the franchisee is an exception to the general rule against relocation. This policy provides some security for franchisees who may face unforeseen circumstances that force them to move their business.

Prospective franchisees should clarify with Deka Lash what documentation is required for site selection, what criteria are used to evaluate a proposed relocation site, and what recourse a franchisee has if a relocation request is denied.
