Answer from 2024 FDD Document

Customer Service Center. We, an affiliate or a third party we designate may provide a customer service center to assist in inbound inquiries, appointment setting, memberships, customer service, follow up, outbound sales & campaigns, and other services. If required by us, you must participate in the customer service center and you agree to pay all reasonable fees imposed by the provider for those services. Additionally, you may be required to use a specific telephone number, phone, or VOIP system that we may specify. Currently we offer a Customer Service Center and require that you use it. The fee is as specified in the Operations Manual.

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Deka Lash's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are currently required to participate in the Customer Service Center. Deka Lash, an affiliate, or a designated third party may provide this center to assist with inbound inquiries, appointment setting, memberships, customer service, follow-up, outbound sales, campaigns, and other services. Franchisees must participate if required by Deka Lash and agree to pay all reasonable fees imposed by the provider for these services. Franchisees may also be required to use a specific telephone number, phone, or VOIP system specified by Deka Lash. The fees associated with the Customer Service Center are detailed in the Operations Manual.

This requirement means that a new Deka Lash franchisee must factor in the costs associated with the Customer Service Center when projecting their operating expenses. It also ensures a standardized approach to customer interaction, potentially improving customer satisfaction and brand consistency. However, franchisees should carefully review the Operations Manual to understand the full scope of services provided and the associated fees to accurately assess the financial impact on their business.

It is common in the franchise industry for franchisors to mandate certain services or systems to maintain quality control and brand uniformity. The Customer Service Center requirement aligns with this practice, allowing Deka Lash to manage customer interactions and sales efforts across all franchise locations. Prospective franchisees should evaluate whether the benefits of this centralized service outweigh the costs and restrictions imposed.
