What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Deka Lash's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the estimated time to open a studio is approximately 9 to 12 months. However, several factors can influence this timeline. These include arranging training for owners and employees, securing necessary business permits and licenses, and finding a suitable site for the studio. Negotiating the lease and obtaining required licenses and permits can also impact the opening timeline.
Additionally, the build-out process, obtaining furniture and equipment, and hiring and training staff all contribute to the overall time required. Securing an occupancy permit is another essential step that can affect when the studio can open. The franchisee's operational capabilities and personal circumstances can also play a role in the opening timeline.
If a Deka Lash franchisee fails to open within 365 days from the effective date of the Franchise Agreement, they must pay an Opening Deadline Extension Fee of $500 for each month (or portion thereof) that they are delayed. This extension can be granted for up to 12 months. Failure to pay the extension fee or opening after the 12-month extension period may result in the termination of the Franchise Agreement, with Deka Lash retaining the initial franchise fee and any payments for products and inventory.
