What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Deka Lash's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, any Business Listing & Promotion Fees paid by the franchisee will be applied against their Local Marketing Requirement.
Deka Lash requires franchisees to advertise their franchised business in online directories, through advertising agencies, and in other promotional efforts as specified in their manuals. Deka Lash has the right to place these listings, advertising, fees, or promotions on behalf of the franchisee and collect the cost from them. If other franchisees are served by the same directories, agencies, promotions, or listings, Deka Lash has the right to require group participation, make direct arrangements, and allocate an equitable part of the cost to each franchisee.
This means that while Deka Lash controls the placement and execution of certain advertising and promotional activities, the fees paid for these activities can be used to satisfy the franchisee's local marketing obligations. This arrangement could benefit franchisees by ensuring consistent brand messaging and potentially leveraging the franchisor's expertise in marketing, while also fulfilling their required local advertising efforts.
