Is a Deer Solution franchisee permitted to locate their Administrative Office within their home residence?

According to Deer Solution's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, whether a franchisee can locate their Administrative Office within their home depends on local laws. If permitted by local law, a Deer Solution franchisee may locate their Administrative Office within their home residence.

However, if locating the Administrative Office at home is not permitted by local law, the franchisee is responsible for selecting a site for their Administrative Office and must obtain Deer Solution's approval of the selected location. Deer Solution does not typically own or lease the real property for the Administrative Office, making the franchisee responsible for all costs associated with locating and evaluating potential sites. Deer Solution will provide site selection guidelines to assist in this process.

Deer Solution must provide written approval or disapproval of the proposed location within 30 days of receiving all required information and documentation. Factors considered include the site's characteristics, whether it meets criteria for non-retail back-office operations, and its location relative to the franchisee's operating territory and other franchisees. The franchisee must secure an approved Administrative Office location within 60 days of signing the Franchise Agreement. Failure to do so may result in Deer Solution terminating the Franchise Agreement without refunding any fees if the default is not cured within 30 days of notice.
