What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Deer Solution's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the definition of 'Competitive Business' remains consistent throughout the initial term of the Franchise Agreement and any subsequent Renewal Term. A 'Competitive Business' is defined as any business that is the same as or similar to a Deer Solution Business, specifically including those offering deer repellent services, deer damage control, and repair.
Importantly, this definition expands to include businesses that offer lawn care and/or landscaping services during both the initial term and any renewal terms. This means that franchisees are restricted from engaging in or owning such businesses, as they are considered competitive to Deer Solution.
This definition has significant implications for a prospective franchisee. It restricts the franchisee's ability to operate or invest in related businesses, even after the initial franchise term, if they choose to renew their agreement. Franchisees need to be aware of these restrictions and how they might impact their future business ventures. It is important to fully understand the scope of these competitive restrictions before entering into a franchise agreement with Deer Solution.
