What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Deck Medic's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Renewal Term, which is a 10-year period commencing after the expiration of the initial term, applies only if the franchisee is entitled to and invokes their renewal rights according to the terms and conditions of the franchise agreement.
In simpler terms, a Deck Medic franchisee doesn't automatically get a renewal. They must be eligible for renewal based on the franchise agreement's requirements and then actively choose to exercise their right to renew. This means a franchisee needs to carefully review the franchise agreement to understand the specific conditions they must meet to qualify for a renewal term.
This conditionality is important for prospective Deck Medic franchisees because it highlights that renewal isn't guaranteed. Franchisees should pay close attention to the conditions for renewal outlined in Article 15 of the agreement to ensure they can meet those requirements if they wish to continue operating their Deck Medic franchise beyond the initial term. Failing to meet these conditions could result in the franchisee not being able to renew their franchise.
