What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Deck Medic's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor must approve the operating territory. Specifically, at the time of signing the Franchise Agreement, Deck Medic will have already selected and approved the operating territory where the franchisee will operate.

Additionally, if a franchisee elects to lease a back-end administrative office or operations center, the location must be within the approved operating territory and also be approved by Deck Medic. This indicates that while the initial territory is pre-approved, any physical locations used for business operations within that territory also require franchisor approval.

This requirement ensures that Deck Medic maintains control over market distribution and prevents franchisees from encroaching on each other's territories, which is a common practice in franchising. It also allows Deck Medic to ensure that any physical locations meet their standards and are suitable for the business operations. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider the available territories and the implications of needing approval for any operational locations within that territory.
