What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Deck Medic's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, both the Operating Manager and a new Managing Owner (if the franchisee is a Corporate Entity) must attend and successfully complete the Training Program. The Operating Manager must meet Deck Medic's minimum training and brand quality control standards, as detailed in the Operations Manual. They must also sign a Confidentiality Agreement and agree in writing to take responsibility for the on-site management of the franchised business.

For a Corporate Entity, if the Managing Owner dies or becomes permanently disabled, the remaining owners have 30 days to appoint a new Managing Owner, who must then attend and successfully complete the Training Program within 60 days of their appointment. If a Franchisor approved Managing Owner is not managing the Deck Medic business within 30 days after the death or permanent disability of the previous Managing Owner, Deck Medic is authorized to appoint a manager to maintain operations at the franchisee's expense until a new approved Managing Owner can take over.

These requirements ensure that individuals in key management positions are adequately trained in Deck Medic's operational standards and procedures. This helps maintain consistency and quality across all franchise locations. The stipulations regarding the Managing Owner's replacement in case of death or disability are designed to ensure business continuity and protect Deck Medic's brand standards, even in unforeseen circumstances.

Prospective franchisees should carefully consider these training requirements and ensure that their designated Operating Manager and any potential replacement Managing Owners are willing and able to meet these obligations. Failure to comply with these requirements could potentially lead to intervention by Deck Medic and associated costs.
