What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Deck Medic's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Deck Medic may provide franchisees with approved marketing templates. Deck Medic retains the right to approve all advertising and marketing materials used by franchisees.
Franchisees must get written pre-approval from Deck Medic for all marketing materials and mediums. Deck Medic has the discretion to offer approved marketing templates that include pre-approved ads, ad copy, and digital media, which franchisees can use at their own expense. If a franchisee wants to use materials not already approved, they can submit a written request, and Deck Medic will respond within 15 days.
Deck Medic also requires franchisees to engage in local marketing, with specific minimum expenditures. In the first year, Deck Medic will assist in developing a marketing plan. Starting in the second year, franchisees must spend 5% of the previous year's gross sales on local marketing, following Deck Medic's standards. Deck Medic will provide access to approved marketing campaigns, including source designs, copy, and design specifications, but the franchisee will bear the costs of customizing, duplicating, and using these campaigns.
All digital media and marketing must be approved by Deck Medic, and the franchisor will designate information about the franchisee's Deck Medic business on the company website. Deck Medic may also establish local or regional advertising cooperatives, requiring franchisees to contribute, but not exceeding 5% of monthly gross sales. As of the FDD issuance date, no such cooperatives have been established.
