What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Deck Medic's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial training program takes place over an approximate two-week period. This training is designed for the franchisee or, if the franchisee is a corporation, the Managing Owner, plus two designated managers. Deck Medic requires that either the franchisee or their Managing Owner, along with the general manager, successfully complete this initial training program no later than 30 days before the scheduled opening of the Deck Medic business.
Deck Medic provides this initial training at no additional fee for the franchisee or Managing Owner and up to two designated managers. However, the franchisee is responsible for covering all travel expenses and employee wages associated with attending and completing the training. The training covers various subjects, as detailed in the training program chart, and utilizes manuals, live instruction, and handouts.
If a replacement Operating Manager is needed, Deck Medic offers its initial training program, which must be completed to their satisfaction. The franchisee will be required to pay a supplemental training fee for the replacement Operating Manager, which is currently $600 per manager per day. Deck Medic also reserves the right to require attendance at a system-wide training program, not exceeding five days in any calendar year, with the franchisee responsible for all related expenses.
