Note 9: Annual Conference Attendance Fee – If we offer a franchisee annual conference in a given year you will be required to attend the conference on the dates and at the location that we designate. What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Deck Medic's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, attendance at the annual conference is required if Deck Medic offers one in a given year. The franchisee is responsible for all travel and lodging expenses associated with attending the conference. Deck Medic reserves the right to charge franchisees an annual conference fee, which will not exceed $1,000.
Deck Medic will designate the dates and location of the annual conference. Franchisees are required to attend the conference on those designated dates and at the specified location. Deck Medic will not require a franchisee to attend an annual conference for more than five days during any calendar year.
Importantly, Deck Medic also reserves the right to charge the Annual Conference Attendance Fee to those franchisees that do not attend the conference. This policy incentivizes attendance, as franchisees may be penalized financially for non-attendance even if they do not directly benefit from the conference.
