What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Deck Medic's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee's marketing and media efforts must be directed towards their specific operating territory. Unless they obtain written authorization from Deck Medic, a franchisee is prohibited from engaging in any media distribution aimed at customers, potential customers, or referral sources located outside of their designated operating territory. This restriction applies to all forms of communication, including written, oral, and digital marketing.
This policy ensures that Deck Medic franchisees focus their marketing investments within their assigned areas, preventing overlap and competition between different franchise locations. It also allows Deck Medic to maintain control over its brand image and marketing strategies across different regions.
However, there are exceptions to this rule. A Deck Medic franchisee can engage in media distribution outside their territory if it is a joint effort with other Deck Medic businesses and has the franchisor's written approval. Deck Medic must also agree to it in writing based on their reasonable business judgment. This allows for coordinated marketing campaigns that may extend beyond individual territories, provided they align with the overall marketing strategy and brand standards of Deck Medic.
Prospective franchisees should carefully consider the boundaries of their operating territory and the restrictions on marketing outside of it. Understanding these limitations is crucial for developing an effective marketing plan and ensuring compliance with the franchise agreement. Franchisees should also clarify with Deck Medic the process for obtaining approval for joint marketing efforts or other exceptions to the territorial marketing restrictions.
