What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Deck Medic's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee may add Additional Territories subject to certain conditions. To do so, the franchisee needs to obtain Deck Medic's approval, ensure that the territories are available, and pay the additional Initial Franchise Fees as outlined in Item 5 of the FDD. Each Additional Territory will include a geographic area with a population ranging between 400,000 and 600,000 people. The population calculation is based on raw data without regard to demographics or age.
This means that a Deck Medic franchisee looking to expand their business has the option to acquire additional territories, but it is not guaranteed. The availability of territories and Deck Medic's approval are critical factors. The requirement to pay additional Initial Franchise Fees for each territory also represents a significant financial commitment. Item 5 of the FDD would provide more detail on the exact costs involved.
Many franchise systems allow franchisees to expand their operations by acquiring additional territories, but the specific terms and conditions can vary widely. Some franchisors may offer exclusive rights to expand within a certain area, while others may prioritize existing franchisees. The Deck Medic franchise agreement does not grant any options, rights of first refusal, or similar rights to acquire additional franchises.
Prospective Deck Medic franchisees should carefully consider the costs and requirements associated with acquiring additional territories. They should also evaluate the potential market demand and competition in those areas. Understanding the criteria Deck Medic uses to approve additional territories and the factors that could affect their availability is essential for making informed business decisions.
