What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Deck Medic's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a 'First Responder' who qualifies for the veteran's discount is defined as any current or former police officer, firefighter, or emergency medical technician who has served for more than five years in that capacity. Deck Medic offers this discount, which amounts to 10% off the initial franchise fee, to honorably discharged U.S. military veterans and qualifying first responders.

This discount is not automatically applied; prospective Deck Medic franchisees must specifically request it when submitting their initial franchise application. Additionally, they must provide documented proof of their military service or first responder status to be eligible. The discount is a one-time offer applicable only to the initial franchise fee and cannot be combined with any other discounts Deck Medic may offer.

For prospective Deck Medic franchisees who qualify, this discount can significantly reduce the initial investment required to start the franchise. Given that the initial franchise fee is $30,000 for a single territory, a 10% discount would save a qualifying veteran or first responder $3,000. This can make the franchise opportunity more accessible and affordable for those who have served their country or community.

It is important to note that the availability of this discount is subject to Deck Medic's approval of the franchisee entering the franchise system. This implies that meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee the discount, as Deck Medic retains the right to deny it based on their overall assessment of the applicant.
