What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Deck Medic's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for all costs associated with attending the Annual System Conference. In addition to the Annual Conference Attendance Fee, which can be up to $1,000 annually, franchisees must cover their own travel, meals, and lodging expenses. This means that franchisees need to budget not only for the conference fee itself but also for transportation to the conference location, accommodation during the conference, and the cost of food and beverages.

The Annual System Conference is described as a networking and educational event for Deck Medic franchisees. The franchisor determines whether the conference will occur in any given year, as well as the dates, content, and location. The conference is limited to a maximum duration of three consecutive days per calendar year.

It's important to note that even if a Deck Medic franchisee chooses not to attend the Annual System Conference, the franchisor may still charge the Annual Conference Attendance Fee. This policy could impact a franchisee's decision on whether to attend, as they may be required to pay the fee regardless of their attendance. Franchisees should factor in these potential costs when evaluating the overall financial commitment of the franchise.
