What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Coffee News's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the weekly fee for the initial hardcopy franchise is $80. This fee begins on the first day of the third month following the month the initial franchise agreement was signed, which Coffee News refers to as "the fourth month of the agreement." Franchisees must pay this fee to Coffee News via credit or debit card, check, or PayPal.
For example, if a franchisee signs an agreement on March 1, 2025, for six franchises, they would pay $9,900 immediately for the initial franchise and $35,000 immediately for the five additional franchises. The weekly fee of $80 for the initial franchise would then commence on June 1, 2025, while the weekly fee of $25 for each additional franchise would begin on December 1, 2025.
Coffee News reserves the right to adjust the weekly fees annually based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in March of each year. This means that the weekly fee could increase (or potentially decrease) based on economic conditions. The schedule is designed to allow ample time to put the entire territory into operation before reaching the maximum weekly fee requirement. After every 6 months, the franchisee has the option to return the remainder of their franchise if they are unable to put the franchises into operation. If their franchises are not in operation but they desire to maintain possession of the franchises, they may pay the next level of weekly fees.
All fees are imposed and collected uniformly by Coffee News and are non-refundable. Prospective franchisees should factor these ongoing weekly fees and potential CPI-based adjustments into their financial projections to ensure the franchise remains viable.
