What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Coffee News's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the weekly fee for additional hardcopy franchises is $25 per additional franchise. This fee is due to Coffee News on the first day of the tenth month following the month the initial franchise agreement was signed. Payments can be made via credit/debit cards, check, or PayPal. The fee applies to the first five additional franchises and is due every six months thereafter for each additional group of five or fewer franchises.
This fee structure is designed to give franchisees time to get their territories running before reaching the maximum weekly fee requirement. Coffee News allows franchisees the option to return the remainder of their franchise every six months if they cannot put the franchises into operation. If the franchises are not in operation, but the franchisee wants to maintain possession of them, they may pay the next level of weekly fees.
It's important to note that Coffee News reserves the right to adjust the weekly fees based on the annual change in the consumer price index (CPI) in March of each year. This means that the $25 weekly fee per additional franchise could increase over time, depending on inflation. Franchisees should factor this potential increase into their financial projections. The FDD states that all fees are non-refundable and uniformly applied.
