What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Coffee News Franchise Disclosure Document, the in-person training program, referred to as Coffee News College, is offered to all new North American franchisees. This suggests that the in-person training program is specifically designed for franchisees operating within North America.
The Coffee News FDD states that Coffee News College occurs every 8 to 13 weeks. New franchisees, business owners, and their principal officers are required to attend the initial training program. The training spans two to three days and incorporates lectures and hands-on involvement from veteran franchisees and corporate staff. Topics covered include sales, advertisement design, billing, collections, distribution, marketing, and startup procedures.
While the training program is available at no additional cost, with a one-time training fee of $2,900 included in the initial franchise fee of $9,900, franchisees are responsible for their own travel and hotel expenses. This could present a significant cost for franchisees located far from the training location. Franchisees should inquire with Coffee News about the typical location of Coffee News College to estimate travel costs.
The FDD does not specify whether franchisees outside of North America are eligible or required to attend the Coffee News College. A prospective franchisee located outside of North America should confirm with Coffee News what training is available to them.
