Is there any agreement limiting the use of the Coffee News copyrights?

According to the 2025 Coffee News Franchise Disclosure Document, there is no agreement limiting the use of the Coffee News copyrights. However, Coffee News and its affiliate, 2703203 Manitoba Inc., claim copyright to the Coffee News format design and the content of the periodicals.

As a Coffee News franchisee, you must promptly inform Coffee News of any unauthorized use of their proprietary information. While Coffee News is not obligated to take action, they will respond as they deem appropriate.

The franchisee's use of trade secrets is restricted. Franchisees cannot share confidential information about the Coffee News format, operations, advertising, promotion, or ideas without written consent from Coffee News. This obligation survives the termination of the franchise agreement. Franchisees must also ensure their employees and agents sign non-disclosure agreements to protect this information.

All copyrights to the periodical, operations manual, training materials, marketing materials, and license agreements are owned by Coffee News and its affiliate. The franchise agreement does not grant the franchisee's customers any rights to use this content without Coffee News's written consent.
