What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Coffee News's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Coffee News Online can be accessed by readers outside of a franchisee's exclusive territory. However, the franchisee's publication of Coffee News Online is restricted to their licensed territory, and they cannot publish content to serve communities beyond that territory.
The franchisor will provide a dropdown menu on its website that allows users to select the area served by a specific franchisee's online version. This ensures that while readers from anywhere can access the Coffee News Online platform, they will primarily be directed to the content relevant to the franchisee's designated territory.
This arrangement allows Coffee News to maintain territorial exclusivity for its franchisees while still leveraging the broader reach of the internet. Franchisees benefit from having a defined service area for their online publication, while readers can easily find the Coffee News edition that is most relevant to their location, even if they are accessing the platform from outside the franchisee's territory.
