What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Coffee News Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for uploading all advertisements and "What's Happening" events content into the online feature system. This means the franchisee must actively manage and update the digital content to keep the online version current and relevant. All services related to Coffee News Online are provided and performed by a third-party contractor hired by Coffee News.

Additionally, franchisees have the option to publish a digital format of the periodical, known as Coffee News Online. To participate in publishing Coffee News Online, a franchisee must pay a one-time enrollment fee of $100 to Chil Consulting or $75 to Shadowfox Design upon enrollment. There are two service options: Basic and Premium. The Basic Service costs $25 per week, while the Premium Service costs $50 per week.

The Basic service provides the layout of current content, submitted ads, and What's Happening events dated and posted for each Monday. It also provides up to 40 single ad spaces (400 x 300 pixels) and sponsorship ads for each week's online edition. The Premium Service includes the Basic Service, plus email marketing services provided by Chil Consulting and/or Shadow Fox Consulting, where the franchisee provides the email content.

Franchisees should understand that while Coffee News provides the platform and some support, the responsibility for keeping the online content fresh and engaging rests on the franchisee.
