What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Coffee News's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a new franchisee is required to purchase printing services from a specific supplier for the first year of operation. Specifically, the franchisee must purchase these services from Coffee News Printing, LLC, located in Bangor, Maine.
After this initial one-year period, the franchisee has the option to either continue using Coffee News Printing, LLC, or to switch to another print shop of their choice. This initial requirement ensures consistency in the printed product during the crucial startup phase.
However, if Coffee News provides financing to a franchisee to purchase a minimum of four franchised units, and the franchisee has made the initial training fee payment, the franchisee is obligated to use the printing services of Coffee News Printing, LLC for the entire term of the loan. This condition likely aims to secure Coffee News Printing, LLC's revenue stream when the franchisor provides substantial financial support to the franchisee.
