What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Coffee News' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the agreement addresses compliance with Coffee News' social media policies. Franchisees must comply with the Coffee News Social Media Policies, which may be amended from time to time. The Coffee News Social Media Policy is included as Schedule D to the Franchise Agreement, and its content is incorporated as part of the agreement.

Coffee News franchisees are responsible for their own content posted on social media and must comply with all laws, regulations, and third-party site terms. Coffee News assumes no liability for a franchisee's use of social media sites and has no obligation to monitor a franchisee's compliance with laws, regulations, or third-party terms. Any approval by Coffee News of a franchisee's use of social media sites does not represent that the franchisee is compliant with these laws, regulations, or terms. Franchisees are responsible for monitoring their own employees, representatives, and agents to ensure compliance with the policies.

This means that while Coffee News provides guidelines and policies for social media use, the franchisee bears the ultimate responsibility for ensuring their online activities and those of their staff comply with all applicable laws and regulations. The franchisee cannot claim reliance on Coffee News' approval as a defense against non-compliance. This is a standard practice in franchising, where franchisees operate independently but under the franchisor's brand and guidelines.
