What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Closet Storage Concepts's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor retains ownership of domain names. Specifically, all domain names registered either by Closet Storage Concepts or by a franchisee in conjunction with the Closet Storage Concepts trademarks belong to the franchisor. This policy ensures that the brand maintains control over its online presence and marketing efforts.

Closet Storage Concepts also owns all rights to information compiled from websites used by the franchisee or franchisor, as well as any intranet or e-commerce networks. Additionally, any websites or email addresses created by Closet Storage Concepts related to the trademark, advertising, or promotion of products or store locations are owned by the franchisor. If Closet Storage Concepts provides an email address for the franchisee's use, it must be used for all electronic Closet Storage Concepts business transactions, and the franchisor has full access to all communications sent and received through that email address.

This arrangement is typical in franchising, as it allows Closet Storage Concepts to maintain a consistent brand image and control over online marketing. However, it also means that franchisees do not have direct ownership or control over their online presence, which could limit their ability to customize their marketing efforts. Prospective franchisees should consider the implications of this policy and how it might affect their business operations.
