If the Approved Location is not identified on Exhibit 1 when this Agreement is executed, then Franchisee is responsible for locating a site within the geographic site selection area described on Exhibit 1 (the "Search Area").
The Search Area is delineated for the sole purpose of site selection and does not provide any territorial exclusivity or protection.
Franchisee must find a location in the Search Area and submit it to Franchisor for approval as required in this Agreement.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Closet Storage Concepts FDD, the geographic site selection area, also known as the "Search Area", for a franchise location is described in Exhibit 1 of the Franchise Agreement. The document clarifies that if the Approved Location isn't already specified in Exhibit 1 when the agreement is signed, it's the franchisee's responsibility to find a suitable site within this designated Search Area.
It's important to note that this Search Area is solely for the purpose of finding a location and doesn't grant any exclusive territorial rights or protection to the franchisee. The franchisee is required to propose a location within the Search Area to Closet Storage Concepts for approval, as outlined in the agreement.
Prospective franchisees should carefully review Exhibit 1 to understand the defined geographic boundaries for site selection. They should also discuss with Closet Storage Concepts the criteria and process for site approval to ensure they can find a location that meets the franchisor's requirements and business needs.
