Closet_Storage_Concepts Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
You must operate the Franchised Business according to the Closet & Storage Concepts System. The Closet & Storage Concepts System may regulate, among other things, the types, models and brands of required furnishings, equipment, signs, materials and supplies to be used in operating the Franchises Business, required or authorized products and product categories and designated or approved suppliers of the items (which may be limited to or include us or our affiliates). You are obligated to purchase all wood, brass, plastic, multiple and special hangers, shoe racks, tie & belt racks, garment racks, storage closets and other storage systems, specialty items and closet rods, lumber and particle board (melamine laminated), rod covers, rod cups, pole covers, BIZTRAX software, CAD Design Software Keys and hardware and any other closet or storage system related accessories, hardware and fixtures from us, our affiliate or from a supplier or manufacturer approved by us. Under certain circumstances, we may allow you to purchase items from another franchisee or sell items to another franchisee, but our written permission is required. We reserve the right to name ourselves or our affiliate as the sole supplier of certain items. We are currently the only supplier of CAD Design Software Keys and CRM software.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Closet Storage Concepts' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, under certain circumstances, a franchisee may be allowed to purchase items from, or sell items to, another franchisee. However, this requires written permission from Closet Storage Concepts. This stipulation is important for prospective franchisees to note, as it means they cannot freely engage in transactions with other franchisees without prior authorization.
Closet Storage Concepts requires franchisees to purchase specific items, such as wood, closet rods, and software, from Closet Storage Concepts, its affiliate, or an approved supplier. This requirement ensures consistency and quality control within the Closet Storage Concepts system. The need for written permission to buy or sell from other franchisees adds a layer of control, potentially to manage inventory, pricing, or brand standards across the franchise network.
This policy is not uncommon in franchising, as franchisors often implement purchasing restrictions to maintain uniformity and quality. However, the requirement for written permission for inter-franchisee transactions is a specific detail that prospective Closet Storage Concepts franchisees should be aware of. It is advisable to discuss the circumstances under which such permission would be granted or denied during the due diligence process to fully understand the implications for their business operations.
