What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Closet Storage Concepts's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement is not a contract for employment. The agreement stipulates that the franchisee is solely responsible for all employment decisions related to the franchised business. This includes hiring, firing, disciplining, supervising, setting employment terms, determining compensation, and implementing training programs for employees.

This means that as a Closet Storage Concepts franchisee, you have complete control over your employees and are responsible for ensuring your business complies with the franchisor's training standards and procedures. You are also responsible for adhering to all legal requirements related to employment.

The FDD explicitly states that franchisees cannot represent or imply to prospective or current employees that they are employed by Closet Storage Concepts itself. This reinforces the franchisee's role as an independent business owner responsible for their own staff. This is a typical arrangement in franchising, where franchisees are independent business owners rather than employees of the franchisor.
