What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Closet Storage Concepts' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, there are several steps a franchisee must complete before opening their business. The franchisee must have a showroom site approved by Closet Storage Concepts. The franchisee is responsible for constructing or remodeling the showroom in compliance with local building codes, ordinances, and requirements, including obtaining all necessary permits and licenses. The franchisee bears all costs associated with this construction or remodeling.
Closet Storage Concepts will provide a list of suppliers and written specifications for all necessary equipment, goods, products, and supplies, along with an opening inventory of franchise products, design layouts, and supplies. The company also provides access to its operating system, which includes digitally stored written materials containing mandatory and suggested formats, standards, methods, specifications, and procedures. This information is housed and modified via the company's corporate intranet site and is included in the confidential training and operations manual.
Furthermore, the franchisee (or the Operating Principal, if the franchisee is an entity) and their designated manager (if employed) must attend and successfully complete the Closet Storage Concepts training course to the franchisor's satisfaction. Failure to successfully complete the training course may result in the termination of the Franchise Agreement. The franchisee is responsible for covering travel and living expenses for themselves and their employees during training. If Closet Storage Concepts determines that in-person training is not advisable, the training hours may be converted to virtual training hours.
