Answer from 2025 FDD Document

You (or your Operating Principal if you are an entity) and your designated manager (if employed) must attend and successfully complete to our satisfaction the Closet & Storage Concepts training course. If we determine that you and/or your designated manager are unable to successfully complete the training course, we have the right to terminate the Franchise Agreement. (Franchise Agreement - Section 4.4).

We do not charge for this training for up to the initial three (3) people. You must pay the travel and living expenses for you and your employees. The instructional materials consist of our Training and Operations Manual and demonstrations and practice. Initial training will be conducted by Dawn Smith, Gary Berthel, Tim Albert and Jason Friedley. Dawn has been our Director of Operations since 2007. Gary has been our National Production Training Manager since 2000. Tim has been our National Sales Training Manager since January, 2012. Jason has been the Director of Technology since 2011. Initial Training is provided on an as-needed basis but typically begins within 60 days of signing the Franchise Agreement. All training sessions begin at approximately 9 A.M. All training occurs at our New Jersey locations and/or at a Franchised Business location. We reserve our right to provide virtual training in lieu of in person training. (Franchise Agreement - Section 4.4).

The entire training program is subject to change due to updates in materials, methods, manuals and personnel without notice to you. The subjects and time periods allocated to the subjects actually taught to a specific franchisee and its personnel may vary based on the individual needs and/or experience of those persons being trained.

We reserve the right to offer refresher courses and supplemental training programs, which may be optional or mandatory, from time to time. You shall be responsible for the personal expenses, including transportation to and from the training site and lodging, meals, and salaries during training, for individuals attending any refresher or supplemental training. You shall pay our then-current tuition for any individual attending refresher courses or supplemental training. If our representatives must travel to provide the training, you must pay their travel costs and expenses. (Franchise Agreement - Section 4.4).

What This Means (2025 FDD)

Based on the 2025 Closet Storage Concepts Franchise Disclosure Document, the specific advertising topics covered in the training program are not detailed. The FDD mentions that the training program covers various aspects of operating the business, but it does not provide a breakdown of the advertising-related subjects.

The FDD does mention that Closet Storage Concepts utilizes in-store merchandising and point-of-purchase printed materials to promote products and services in the showroom. While they do not currently use broadcast media like television and radio, they reserve the right to do so in the future. They also use public relations programs and national marketing service firms for marketing materials and public relations development. Franchisees may be required to participate in special promotional programs and pay their share of the costs.

To gain a clear understanding of the advertising topics covered in the Closet Storage Concepts training program, a prospective franchisee should ask the franchisor for a detailed outline of the training curriculum. This would help in assessing the level of support and guidance provided in the area of advertising and marketing.
