What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Closet Storage Concepts's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, spouses of owners are required to execute a specific agreement. This agreement is titled the "Confidentiality, Non Disclosure and Non-compete Agreement." This requirement ensures that the confidential information of Closet Storage Concepts is protected, even by individuals who are closely related to the franchise owner but not directly part of the business.

The purpose of this agreement is to prevent the disclosure of sensitive business information to outside parties and to restrict any competitive activities that could harm Closet Storage Concepts. This is a common practice in franchising, as franchisors seek to safeguard their trade secrets, operational methods, and market strategies. By having the spouse sign a non-compete agreement, Closet Storage Concepts aims to prevent family members from using the franchised business's knowledge to start a competing business.

Prospective franchisees should carefully review the terms of this agreement with their legal counsel to fully understand its implications. It is important to be aware of the restrictions it places on the spouse, particularly regarding confidentiality and non-competition, both during the franchise term and after its expiration or termination. Franchisees must forward all executed agreements to Closet Storage Concepts to ensure compliance.
