ITEM 15 OBLIGATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ACTUAL OPERATION OF THE FRANCHISE BUSINESS
You must maintain direct responsibility over the Bakery; however, we do not require that you personally supervise the day-to-day operations of the Bakery. During operations hours, a Manager who has successfully completed the initial training program described in Section 14.1 of the Franchise Agreement, must at all times be at your Bakery. The Managers must directly supervise and be responsible for the dayto-day management and proper operation of your Bakery, and the Managers may not assist in any business which competes with your Bakery. The Managers must invest their full time and attention and devote their best efforts to the on-premises management of the Bakery. The Managers cannot have an interest or business relationship with any of our business competitors. The Managers need not have an ownership interest in the franchisee.
If the Managers are not already bound by the Franchise Agreement, we may require them to sign a noncompetition, non-solicitation and/or nondisclosure agreement in the form(s) prescribed by us.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cinnaholic's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a high level of effort and commitment is expected from the Bakery's manager. While the franchisee is not required to personally supervise day-to-day operations, a designated Manager must be present at the Bakery during all operating hours. This Manager must have successfully completed Cinnaholic's initial training program.
The Cinnaholic Bakery Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and proper operation of the bakery. They must dedicate their full time and attention and devote their best efforts to managing the Bakery on-premises. The manager cannot be involved with any business that competes with Cinnaholic.
To ensure commitment and protection of Cinnaholic's interests, the Manager may be required to sign a noncompetition, non-solicitation, and/or nondisclosure agreement. This agreement would prevent them from engaging in activities that compete with Cinnaholic, disclosing confidential information, or soliciting employees. This is a common practice in franchising to protect the brand and trade secrets. The FDD also states that each Bakery must be open no less than 70 hours per week, as specified in the Operations Manual.
