We will provide our standards to you through our Manual. We will lend you a copy of our Manual when you sign the Franchise Agreement and pay us the initial Franchise Fee and any other amounts then due. We may update and revise these standards periodically, and we will notify you of these changes by written or electronic communication. See Item 11. We usually develop standards internally, but sometimes we develop standards with suppliers.
What This Means (2025 FDD)
Based on the 2025 FDD, Item 8 describes Churchs Chicken's restrictions on the sources from which franchisees can purchase goods and services. Item 8 states that Churchs Chicken will provide its standards to franchisees through its Manual when the Franchise Agreement is signed, the initial Franchise Fee is paid, and any other amounts then due. Churchs Chicken may update and revise these standards periodically, and will notify franchisees of these changes by written or electronic communication. The FDD states that further details regarding these standards are available in Item 11. Therefore, Churchs Chicken's obligation to provide and update its standards is contingent upon the franchisee adhering to the restrictions outlined in Item 8 regarding approved suppliers and products.
In practical terms, this means that a Churchs Chicken franchisee must follow the sourcing guidelines set by the franchisor to receive the operational standards and updates necessary to run the restaurant. This includes purchasing items from approved suppliers and using specified products. Failure to comply with these restrictions could result in the franchisee not receiving critical information needed to maintain brand standards and operational efficiency.
This arrangement is fairly standard in the franchise industry, as franchisors need to ensure consistency across all locations to protect the brand's reputation. By mandating specific suppliers and products, Churchs Chicken aims to control the quality and uniformity of its offerings. Franchisees should carefully review the list of approved suppliers and product specifications to understand the scope of these restrictions and any potential impact on their operating costs and flexibility.
