What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Churchs Chicken Franchise Disclosure Document, the addendum to the Churchs Texas Chicken Franchise Agreement is referred to as "This Addendum to the Church's Texas Chicken Franchise Agreement dated." The addendum is made between Cajun Global LLC, also known as Churchs Texas Chicken, and the franchisee.

The FDD states that the provisions outlined in the addendum are an integral part of the agreement and are incorporated directly into it. The document specifies that the addendum is executed because the franchise offer or sale was made in a specific state, the franchisee resides in that state, and/or the franchised restaurant or protected area will be located in that state. For example, addenda are included for franchisees in Illinois, New York, and Maryland.

These addenda include alterations to sections of the franchise agreement. For Illinois franchisees, the addendum specifies that Illinois law governs the agreement, clarifies jurisdiction and venue stipulations, and outlines the statute of limitations for claims under the Illinois Franchise Disclosure Act. For New York franchisees, the addendum clarifies that any provision inconsistent with the New York General Business Law may not be enforceable and addresses general releases of claims. For Maryland franchisees, the addendum stipulates that a disclosure release does not apply to any liability under the Maryland Franchise Registration and Law and that Churchs Chicken will defer payment of the franchise fee until the Franchised Restaurant opens for business.
