What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Churchs Chicken Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees acknowledge that the franchise agreement involves significant legal and business rights and risks. Churchs Chicken does not guarantee a franchisee's success. The franchisee must confirm they have thoroughly read the agreement, conducted an independent investigation of the business, and have been advised by legal counsel or other advisors.
This acknowledgement underscores the importance of due diligence before investing in a Churchs Chicken franchise. Prospective franchisees should not rely solely on the franchisor's representations but should actively seek independent legal and business advice to fully understand the terms and conditions of the agreement. Franchisees must recognize that the nature of the Churchs Chicken business may evolve over time.
The franchisee also confirms they have had ample opportunity to investigate all representations made by or on behalf of Cajun and to consult with current and former Churchs Chicken franchisees. The success of the business depends on the franchisee's personal commitment, capability, and direct involvement in day-to-day management. This highlights that while Churchs Chicken provides a system and brand, the franchisee's efforts are crucial for achieving profitability.
These representations and acknowledgements are designed to protect Churchs Chicken by ensuring that franchisees enter the agreement with a clear understanding of the risks and responsibilities involved. It is a common practice in franchising to include such clauses to avoid future disputes based on misunderstandings or a lack of awareness.
