What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Churchs Chicken's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are generally required to adhere to the standard construction plans and specifications provided by the company. However, franchisees are not completely restricted from making changes.

The FDD specifies that franchisees can modify or deviate from the standard plans and specifications, but only with Churchs Chicken's prior written approval. This means a franchisee must formally request and receive permission before implementing any alterations to the prescribed construction blueprints.

The franchisee is responsible for covering all costs associated with adapting the standard plans to comply with local or state laws, regulations, or ordinances. Additionally, the franchisee bears the expense of preparing any plans that deviate from or modify the standard plans. This process ensures that while franchisees can propose changes, Churchs Chicken retains control over brand consistency and structural integrity, while the franchisee assumes the financial burden for these modifications.
