Under what circumstances might Chocolate Fish Coffee approve a relocation request?
Chocolate_Fish_Coffee Franchise · 2024 FDDAnswer from 2024 FDD Document
You do not have the right to relocate your business, and we have no obligation to approve any request for relocation. Our policy is to approve relocation of a franchisee's business on caseby-case basis, considering factors such as changes in demographics, profitability of your current business, or a loss of your premises due to circumstances beyond your control.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Chocolate Fish Coffee Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees do not have a guaranteed right to relocate their business. However, Chocolate Fish Coffee's policy is to consider relocation requests on a case-by-case basis. This means that while relocation is not automatically granted, the franchisor is open to evaluating such requests.
Chocolate Fish Coffee will consider factors such as changes in the demographics of the area surrounding the current location. If the population or customer base has shifted, making the original site less viable, this could be a reason for approval. The franchisor will also assess the profitability of the franchisee's current business. A decline in profits might indicate a need for relocation to a more promising area.
Finally, Chocolate Fish Coffee will consider circumstances beyond the franchisee's control, such as the loss of the premises due to unforeseen events like natural disasters or eminent domain. These are situations where the franchisee is forced to move, and Chocolate Fish Coffee may be more inclined to approve a relocation request. It is important to note that each relocation request is evaluated individually, and approval is not guaranteed even if one or more of these factors are present.
