What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Chocolate Fish Coffee's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the time limit for Chocolate Fish Coffee to approve or disapprove a proposed site is 30 days. This 30-day period starts once the prospective franchisee has submitted all required documents and information about the site to Chocolate Fish Coffee.
It is important to note that if Chocolate Fish Coffee and the franchisee cannot agree on a site, the franchisee may not be able to meet the development and opening deadline specified in the franchise agreement. If the franchisee fails to meet this deadline, they could be in default, potentially leading to the termination of the franchise agreement, unless an extension is agreed upon with Chocolate Fish Coffee.
This site approval process is a critical step for franchisees. Franchisees should ensure they gather and submit all necessary documentation promptly to facilitate a timely review. Understanding the criteria Chocolate Fish Coffee uses for site approval, such as general location, competition, demographics, traffic patterns, parking, size, building characteristics, and lease terms, is also essential for selecting suitable locations and avoiding delays or disapproval.
