What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Chocolate Fish Coffee's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, System Standards are the brand's mandatory procedures, requirements, and standards in place at any given time. These standards are determined by Chocolate Fish Franchising and can include a wide array of operational and presentational aspects of the business.
For a prospective Chocolate Fish Coffee franchisee, this means adhering to the brand's established ways of doing things. These System Standards cover many areas, including the appearance of the store, business metrics, cleanliness, customer service protocols, and design elements like construction, layout, furniture, fixtures, and signage. Franchisees must also follow standards for equipment, inventory management, marketing and public relations activities, operating days and hours, and how the brand's trademarks are presented.
The System Standards also extend to the products and services offered, ensuring consistent quality through any guaranty and warranty programs. Franchisees must comply with reporting requirements, safety protocols, and the technology used in the business, including computers, point-of-sale systems, software, and communication systems. Standards also apply to uniforms and even vehicles used in the business. Chocolate Fish Franchising can modify these standards over time, and franchisees are expected to stay current with any changes.
Chocolate Fish Coffee may also vary or waive any System Standard for any one or more Chocolate Fish Coffee franchises due to the peculiarities of the particular site or circumstances, density of population, business potential, population of trade area, existing business practices, applicable laws or regulations, or any other condition relevant to the performance of a franchise or group of franchises. However, the franchisee is not entitled to the same variation or waiver.
