How many total hours of training (classroom and on-the-job) are provided by Chocolate Fish Coffee?

According to Chocolate Fish Coffee's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial training program consists of a total of 39 hours. This is broken down into 9.5 hours of classroom training and 29.5 hours of on-the-job training. The training covers various aspects of the business, including Chocolate Fish Coffee culture, operations basics, pricing, front and back of house operations, customer satisfaction, opening and closing procedures, barista training, weekly duties, and other procedure reviews.

The training program is designed to equip franchisees with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully operate a Chocolate Fish Coffee location. The classroom training provides a foundation in the company's history, culture, and basic setup, while the on-the-job training allows franchisees to apply what they've learned in a real-world setting. The training is conducted either in Sacramento, CA, or at the franchisee's location.

Prospective franchisees should note that they must complete the training to Chocolate Fish Coffee's satisfaction at least four weeks before opening their business. They will also be required to pass a test evaluating their understanding of the training content. Failure to pass the test or complete the initial training may result in termination of the franchise agreement with no refund of the initial franchise fee. Franchisees must attend training, and Chocolate Fish Coffee does not charge a fee for up to 2 people to attend training. However, the franchisee is responsible for the travel and living expenses of their employees or managers attending training.

Chocolate Fish Coffee also requires that the business be under the on-site supervision of the franchisee or a general manager who has completed the training program. If a new general manager needs to be sent to the training program, a fee of $350 per day will be charged.
