What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Chesters's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Washington Addendum is an integral part of the franchise agreement and modifies the Franchise Disclosure Document and all related agreements. This addendum applies under the following conditions:

First, if the offer to sell a Chesters franchise is accepted within the state of Washington, the addendum is applicable. Second, the addendum applies if the purchaser of the Chesters franchise is a resident of Washington. Finally, the Washington Addendum is applicable if the franchised business that is the subject of the sale is to be located or operated, either wholly or partly, within Washington.

This means that prospective Chesters franchisees should carefully review the Washington Addendum if any of these conditions are met, as it contains provisions specific to Washington law that may affect their rights and obligations under the franchise agreement. For example, in the event of a conflict of laws, the provisions of the Washington Franchise Investment Protection Act will take precedence.
