What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Chesters's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Washington Addendum is applied under specific conditions related to the franchise's location and the franchisee's residency. The addendum modifies the Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement, and all related agreements, regardless of any conflicting information in those documents.
The Washington Addendum applies if any of the following conditions are met: (a) the offer to sell a Chesters franchise is accepted in Washington, (b) the purchaser of the Chesters franchise is a resident of Washington, or (c) the franchised Chesters business will be located or operated, either wholly or partly, in Washington.
This means that if a prospective Chesters franchisee lives in Washington or intends to operate their franchise in Washington, the Washington Addendum will be integrated into their franchise agreement. This addendum ensures compliance with Washington State laws, particularly the Washington Franchise Investment Protection Act, and addresses potential conflicts of law, franchisee rights, and other legal considerations specific to operating a franchise within the state of Washington.
