What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Chesters's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the maximum monthly POS Technology Fee is $350. This fee is applicable if Chesters requires franchisees to obtain the Chester's POS System for their restaurant as part of the required operating equipment.
Chesters retains the right to increase the POS Technology Fee, but they must provide franchisees with 90 days' prior written notice before implementing any such increase. This advance notice allows franchisees time to adjust their budgets and business plans accordingly. However, the monthly fee will not exceed $350.
It's important to note that franchisees may also have to pay a POS Technology Fee if they choose to purchase the POS System hardware that Chesters recommends, though it is not currently required. The estimated cost for this optional purchase ranges from $250 to $325 per month. The mandatory fee, should Chesters require the POS system, is capped at $350 per month.
