What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Chesters's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must cooperate with the franchisor's representatives during inspections. Chesters, its agents, or designated third-party representatives have the right to enter the restaurant location at any time during regular business hours to conduct inspections. The franchisee is required to provide their regular business hours to their Chester's Representative at the time of opening.
If a Chester's restaurant fails any inspection surveys, is temporarily closed, or the franchisee interferes with the inspection process, Chesters has the right to conduct additional visits. For each required revisit, Chesters can charge the franchisee $300, payable by credit card or ACH transfer upon notice.
Furthermore, if a Chester's restaurant fails three in-restaurant inspection surveys, Chesters reserves the right to terminate the Franchise Agreement. Upon termination, the franchisee's post-term obligations, as stated in Section 20 of the agreement, will commence. This highlights the importance of maintaining standards and cooperating with inspections to avoid financial penalties and potential termination of the franchise agreement.
