What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Chesters Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are restricted from using any advertising or promotional materials that Chesters has not approved or has explicitly disapproved. Additionally, franchisees are prohibited from developing, maintaining, or authorizing any website that mentions Chesters' trademarks. Franchisees also cannot misrepresent Chesters' products in their advertising, including implying that the products are Halal or Kosher, regardless of whether any component of the product could be considered as such.
This policy ensures that all advertising and promotional efforts align with Chesters' brand standards and marketing strategies. By requiring approval, Chesters maintains control over the messaging and presentation of its brand, preventing inconsistencies or misrepresentations that could harm its reputation. This also allows Chesters to ensure that franchisees are not making claims about the products that are inaccurate or misleading.
For a prospective franchisee, this means that any local advertising or promotional ideas must be submitted to Chesters for review and approval before implementation. This includes print ads, social media content, and any other marketing materials. While this may limit a franchisee's creative freedom, it also provides a level of support and guidance in ensuring that their marketing efforts are effective and compliant with Chesters' standards. Franchisees should factor in the time required for approval when planning their marketing campaigns.
